Feeling a bit down about all the COVID restrictions on travel etc these school holidays. Well I have put together 10 things to do with the kids these school holidays in and around Adelaide. I hope you find this helpful and it gives you some fresh ideas to do together as a family or with friends. Enjoy
1. Mount Lofty Adventure Hub

The Mount Lofty Adventure Hub, based in the gorgeous forest lands of Woodhouse Activity Centre, is open for the public every Saturday and Sunday!
Their Rock Climbing, Abseiling and Zipline experience is a must try, including a 15-metre rock climbing wall and 324m forest zipline (SA’s longest!).
Looking for a group activity? You can book a special party or group day out and take advantage of the FULL RANGE of activities at the Adventure Hub. Why not get together and test yourselves on our High Ropes Challenge Course, dare to take our ‘Leap of Faith’ trapeze or experience the thrill of our 3-person 18 metre Mega Swing!

2. Visit the Walking Trails at Kuitpo Forest

Kuitpo Forest is situated in the South Mount Lofty Ranges, 45 minutes’ drive from Adelaide, near the township of Meadows. The forests provide sustainable wood production within a picturesque community playground just an hour’s drive from the city of Adelaide.
Explore 4 of the walks in the Forest
Onkeeta Trail, Kuitpo Forest, is a 10.8 km trail taking about 3 hours to walk
Forest Trail, Kuitpo Forestis 2.8km trail taking about 1.5 hours to walk
Chookarloo Walk, Kuitpo Forest is a 1.1km trail and takes approximately 30 minutes to walk
Tinjella Trail, Kuitpo Forest is a 12 km trail taking approximately 4 hours to complete.
3. Adelaide Central Market

Big Market Adventures for Little Foodies is back at the Adelaide Central Market these school holidays!
Try the Market Trail, where each little foodie will receive a market bag and map to guide them to each of the ten pit-stops to receive a sample item at each stop. The sample items range from cheese, yoghurt, a piece of seasonal fruit and sweet treat. You can’t beat the Market Trail for value and fun these school holidays.
Market Trail (all ages) – $9 per child when pre-booked (bookings recommended), or $10 on the day. Betweeen 9am – 1pm Tuesday 29 September, Thursday 1 October, Friday 2 October, Tuesday 6 October, Thursday 8 October and Friday 9 October 2020.
If you have a little chef in the house you may wish to try Little Market Chefs, cooking classes by Sprout for kids aged between 6 and 12 years. All of the produce will be fresh from Market stalls and the classes will be fun, interactive and each class will include a small take away meal of the dish they prepare.

4. Hahndorf Farm Barn

Looking for some fun activities to enjoy with the kids in the beautiful Adelaide Hills these school holidays?
The Hahndorf Farm Barn is a unique blend of a children’s farmyard and wildlife park. You can hold, touch and feed most of their animals in complete safety and at your own comfort level. They pride themselves on providing the best school holiday activities in Adelaide!
There are many activities for kids at the farm – try your hand at milking a cow, take a pony ride, bottle feed baby lambs and hand-feed the camels and donkeys to name a few.

5. Mega Adventure

6. October School Holiday Show!

Head to Port Adelaide Plaza this school holidays for their October School Holiday Show with free showbags, balloons, show amusements and you can meet the Avengers!

7. High Country Trail Rides

Horse Riding and Pony Rides at Normanville Beach
Overview
At High Country Trails you can experience the delight and freedom of trotting on horseback through the shallows of beautiful Normanville Beach.
The hour long beach ride is a quiet ride along the sand dunes with its native flora and fauna. The ride then continues onto the Normanville Beach where you can enjoy a trot along the water’s edge and paddle in the sea. Approx. one hour Price per Person: $ 80.00

8. Tube Slides @ Woodhouse Activity Centre

Overview
Open weekends from 11.00am-3.00pm and just one of the awesome activities included in your Day Activity Pass, Camping and Accommodation fee at Woodhouse Activity Centre!
As the only Tube Slide run in South Australia, Tube Sliding at Woodhouse has fast become one of the most popular attractions at the Activity Centre.

9. Treeclimb

OVERVIEW
TreeClimb is Adelaide’s first inner-city, nature-based aerial adventure park! It offers 8 elevated tree top courses – including zip lines – set within Kurrangga Park in the Adelaide City Park Lands.
Additional to the many adventure elements, an education trail has been incorporated into the treetops, giving all users a unique chance to learn about the history of Adelaide and the surrounding parklands. We also have a cafe serving Grab’n’Go food and a selection of hot and cold drinks.

10. West Beach Mini Golf

Overview
West Beach Mini Golf is an ideal way to inject plenty of fun and a little competition into your life.
West Beach Mini Golf has an 18 hole course with some challenging holes and some offering the chance for players to net a hole-in-one.
Mini Golf is ideal for people of all ages and the West Beach facility is located between Adelaide Shores Caravan Resort and Adelaide Shores Holiday Village on Military Road. It is easy to get there by bus from the city or Glenelg and if you do drive, there is plenty of free parking available.
The Mini Golf caters for children’s birthday parties, offering a great choice of foods, a free iceblock and cordial drink for each guest, with a free return game for the birthday boy or girl.
Light refreshments, coffee, ice creams and drinks are also available on site. Fun for the ‘hole’ family.
